Dedicated To Serving Foster Youth in the Sacramento Region
Connections for Youth, Inc. (Connections) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community outreach organization dedicated to serving foster youth in Sacramento County by providing the opportunity to experience nature, culture, and the arts by taking youth on trips and creating life long memories that motivate and inspire. The shared experiences will help to build self-esteem and long lasting relationships with adults and peers.
Connections continues to bring “first-time experiences” to foster youth with a strong emphasis on nature-based hiking and healthy foods. Recent trips included camping at Mount Lassen, Yosemite, Sierra Nevada mountains, etc and visits to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Every $500 raised provides for transportation, food, camping equipment and fees allowing another 15 youth to enjoy nature. They get to experience their first s’mores or ghost stories while seated around the fire on another great camping trip. To get an idea how far your donation goes:
- $40 = Lunch for 12 Youth on day hike
- $50 = Transportation for 12 Youth to Yosemite
- $100 = Opera tickets for 5 Youth
- $120 = Indoor rock climbing for 10 Youth
- $200 = Day of bowling for 15 Youth
